Obama’s stimulus program Cash-For-Clunkers was given new life last night.  But is the program actually stimulating anything? Plus, job numbers are better than expected, but is Obama's stimulus plan really responsible?  And do you feel like the economy is actually improving?  How secure do you feel in your job?  PLUS: Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) resigns.
 
Cost of Kids
A government study says a middle-income family will spend $291,570 to raise a child into adulthood.  Meanwhile, a study out of Oregon State University claims you can reduce your carbon footprint if you have less children.  Are the government and the Left trying to discourage people from having children?  Are you thinking twice about having a child?

Democrat lawmakers are complaining that they’re being harassed by opponents of Obama’s health care reform.  The White House has tried to discredit town hall protests by labeling the backlash “manufactured”.  Are the protests helping or hurting the anti-Obamacare cause?  Also, is the White House intimidating dissenters and encouraging people to ‘rat out’ critics?

The recession has caused federal tax revenues to plummet. This will likely mean higher taxes and / or painful cuts.  The postal service is already planning some major changes.  Where else should we but back to compensate for all the lost revenue?

Former President Bill Clinton met with Kim Jong Il today to help bring home two American journalists held captive in North Korea.  But should the U.S. be negotiating with the rogue nation over anything?  Tom says Clinton made a big mistake.
 
Dozens Injured
Dozens of passengers were hurt yesterday when a flight from Brazil to Texas hit heavy turbulence.  Did the passengers cause their own injuries?  PLUS: “Joker Obama” = horrible, offensive. “Joker Bush” = clever, artistic, accurate? Tom explains.

Broken Promises?
Treasury Secretary “Tiny” Tim Geithner said yesterday that he cannot rule out a middle class tax increase to help pay for health care and tame the deficit. Of course, an increase would contradict promises made by Barack Obama. How will Obama tax the middle class?  And will the people stand for it?  Plus, will healthcare survive when Congress returns in September?
 
'Clunkers' needs Cash
'Cash for Clunkers' will run out of money tomorrow if it doesn't receive more taxpayer funding.  The Senate will vote on it today, but Demint and McCain are against giving the program any more cash.  Why shouldn’t other industries have a 'clunker' program?  Tom says 'cash for clunkers' exemplifies what's wrong with most government stimulus programs.
 
Dozens Injured
