President Obama just nominated Fed Chief Ben Bernanke to serve another four years.  Bernanke was the engineer of much of the government’s controversial and expensive recovery programs.  Did Bernanke really save the day and prevent a second depression?

Former VP Dick Cheney has criticized the Obama Administration’s decision to probe the CIA and their past interrogation tactics.  Did the CIA go too far?  Plus, despite American outrage over the release of the Lockerbie bomber, Libyan leader Ghadafi plans to address the UN next month, and then pitch his tent in a New Jersey suburb!
Up or Down?
According to the S&P/Case Shiller index, home prices rose 2.9 percent in the second quarter.  But the FHFA says home prices declined in the second quarter.  Who's right?  And with government incentives expiring soon, should Obama extend some of his housing programs?
